RE: 18V Drill and Scissor Jacks

I bought a 3/8" extension about 8" and cut the socket wrench end off added a 3/4" socket for the Jayco scirrors.
I was using white grease for my jacks and now I see one that uses WD40.
What do you use for a lube that doesn't pickup all the dirt from the road?????

RE: Keeping onions in trailer

Im'm not seeing the point of putting onions in the fridge at all. I've always just put them in a bag under the sink. I don't put tomatos in the fridge either.

RE: Bay Mills Casino Absolutely the worst.

M GO BLUE
St Ignace casino isn't very friendly to RV's as their parking lot for them is in a hole about a block away from the casino.
Turtle Creek's new casino has all it's lot about a block or so away but their shuttles are running every two minutes so it is no waiting for them to take take your money. (I think Traverse city casinos are thye tightest in Michigan!)
May the good luck be yours,
Tom

RE: Bay Mills Casino Absolutely the worst.

"Is Kings Club still there ?"
Sure is and they offer some goofy gift each month if you get the required points for playing.
Bay Mills is one of the best Mich. casinos but I like Island in the UP also and my wife like the one in Watermeet where she won $1400 on a penny machine and I won $3400 on a 2 cent machine.
We play and stay across the USA at the casinos.

Levi Jackson state park ky

I noticed on my trailer life disk (2004) that a Ky state park in London Ky is listed.
How is it?
Does Ky charge a fee to get into the park or do you need a season pass?
Any info would be great for this or something near Louisville or Lexington as we are on our way to Memphis and this would be our first stop
I be asking many more ??? as I put this trip together
Thanks

RE: Bay Mills Casino Absolutely the worst.

I agree with Travelnutz and then some.
BayMillsd has always (for the last 8 or 10 years) that we have gone there been a "GREAT" time.
I have never had to pay for my camp site as it has always be comped, the food was comped, the mailed offers included more money than any Detroit casino.
We has a ball there, I do go to the bar for my drinks but then thats me.
The food is good if you like white fish or snow crab at Staceys. I'm old enough that on cetain days my breakfast is a buck.
The trailer sites are okay and the showers are fine with hot water all the time.
Sites include cable TV and you do get WiFi depending where your site is. Most often I just take the laptop inside the hotel lobby for email and of course go to the library for a hard connection for "businss".
The thing we like the best about the casino is "The Royal Ascot" horse race game. We have made many friends with the Canadains that are big player of that game. It is a lot of laughs and you can play for 25 cents or 20 bucks.
I'm looking at coupons for 2 nights free at the hotel and 35 bucks cash. hmmmm may just have to go in a week or so.

RE: Nutrasweet and Splenda Free!

My doc said I should try not to drink more than 300 bottles of diet pop a day to avoid problems from to much non-sugar products. Just kidding he said use anything I like but as in everything in life moderation is the goal.
Been type 2 for 10 years without any side effects.

RE: 9 Days in Michigan, any suggestions

To the CG Crime I would welcome a report on ANY state and their campgrounds. It is a sad fact that not all are in the campgrounds for just fun. The economy brings out the worst and the opportunity for crimes is always present.
I have never, ever had a bad experience in my short 50 years of camping in Michigan. I haven't even been told of any till now and with the media always trying to make news these days am not surprised.
Come have fun and enjoy a great place for camping. My personnal favorites are in the UP but Hartwick pines S.P. is great and the rifle river S.P. is also nice.

RE: New Duramax/Allison

I also found out (the hard way) to watch who rotates your tires as they have to be reset to the location they are at on the truck or they will register wrong on your DIC.
Could you elaborate?
If your rotation folks rotate the tires there is a reset on each wheels(?) that tells the DIC which tire is where.
Currently my truck thinks that the front tires are on the back and the back tires are on the front. I get a inflation low indication when I startup and it will stay on till the tires heat up. The front tires on your truck should be at 59 and the backs at 71 (2008 Dmax 2500HD).
I will stop by the dealer and have them reset. (special tool I'm told)

Change your oil (synthetic is standard) by your oil meter only. The head of service told me not to come in any sooner. You should get about 7000 to 8500 per change.

Walk in from the side!
I agree it is the point that I hang the towel after a shower, I learned this after bopping my bean on it.

RE: Bad WalMart Campers

Another outrage at a Wal-Mart! Heavens, the parking lot is nothing compared to going inside to hear the screams of unruly toddlers, watch kids hijack motorized carts and careen all around the store, try to out maneuver a family herd of human hippos clogging the aisles, nose pickers all, and then run butt up into some equally unattractive person shouting into a cell phone when you absolutely know that no other human on the face of the earth really wants to talk to her.
No, getting thru the parking lot at Wal-Mart is simple compared to shopping there!
Let it go--you'll know soon enough when Wally World has had enough.
So you hate Wal mart and the fat, ugly people that shop there but you still go? :h
Out of all of the groups of people that you think are in there, "unruly", "human Hippos", "unatractive", "nose-pickers", and since you generalized and think that every shopper fitts into these catagories, to which group do you belong? :)
I think you get today's award for insensetivity.
Well, it wouldn't be my first such award--I have a wall full of them.
I was, however, merely comparing the occasional outrage in the parking lots to the rather common assault on good taste that goes on within the store itself. Of course I shop there--my churning stomach is somewhat salved by the good prices and selection of the products.
Maybe you shop at a different Wal-Mart than I do.
I guess you can keep your catagories to those who DO shop there.
I don't
I won't
I hope to never stay on their property.
I don't shop in places that make money before they think of their people, I'll go to Costco or anywhere else thankyou.

RE: Bad WalMart Campers

The Walmart/Lowes near us is having homeless move into their parking lot. There is 7 RV's parked there for the last 2 months. Walmart and Lowes doesn't seem to mind, at least they havent told them to move. They definately are not the overnighters that we talk about.
Probably just some of their employees.

RE: Diesel Questions

Mine is a 2008 Dmax with less than 10k miles
city 16-17mpg
towing #8500 trialer 11-12.2
highway at 64 18.5-20
I75 @ 74mph 17-18
oil change @ $80.00 includes 10qt synthetic change at 8000 miles
If you are getting a diesel spend a buck and get a run around car it would be worth it for the short everyday stuff.

detroit to tampa 2nd week Oct.

Howdy,
We are going from home to Tampa area in mid October then biloxi, memphis, springfield,mo., and home
Going down we figure to stop for 3 campgrounds for a couple of days each. We've never towed to the Southeast and do not know what areas to shoot for that time of year. Three stops gives us plenty of time and if there are some places you like, perhaps you can clue us in as to what you would do.
I've been lucky to get advise from you folks as to stay at 3 lakes in fl but now I need to get there.
TIA
